For Immediate Release:
Andrew Kuzma Announces Bid for 39th District State House Seat Trusted local attorney, proven township commissioner, and experienced conservative is running for State Representative to provide ethical leadership and to put families and taxpayers first.
ELIZABETH TWP, PA – Andrew Kuzma of Elizabeth Township today announced his candidacy for State Representative in Allegheny County‘s 39th District. He is seeking the Republican nomination in the May 17th Primary Election.
A local attorney and proven township commissioner, Andrew can be trusted to provide the conservative leadership needed to fight for our jobs, support strong reforms that restore confidence in the election process, give parents more control of their children‘s education, and make public safety a top priority to keep our communities safe.
“I have a proven conservative record of serving the residents and taxpayers as an Elizabeth Township Commissioner for the last six years,” said Kuzma. “As a lifelong resident of the 39th District protecting families and seniors will be a top priority for me because I know local residents already pay enough. That‘s why I never voted to increase taxes as Commissioner while providing top–quality services in our township. In the legislature, I‘ll continue to be a strong voice for taxpayers.”
Raised in a working–class family, Andrew has always strived to put people before politics. He is proud of his record as a township commissioner where he has held the line on taxes, cut wasteful spending, and found innovative ways to solve problems and find real solutions. Through strong fiscal discipline and ethical leadership, Andrew has worked with his colleagues on the board to save residents over $1 million by refinancing previous debt, secured hundreds of thousands of dollars in grants to help his community, and strongly supported law enforcement and public safety initiatives to keep families safe.
“As State Representative, I‘ll always put people before politics because my priorities will be the priorities of the residents who call this district home,” said Kuzma, “My record proves I can be trusted to lead the fight for our families, jobs and our way of life.”
Andrew attended local public schools. He went on to graduate from the University of Pittsburgh before earning his Juris Doctor from Duquesne University Law School. A member of the Pennsylvania Bar, Andrew serves as a Municipal Solicitor and practices Elder Law and Estates and Trusts where he helps families and protects the elderly. He works every day to protect people’s constitutional rights and will lead this fight in the State House by fighting to restore election integrity so all citizens can feel our election process is fair and secure.
“I‘m running for the State House because I‘m committed to keeping our families, seniors, and children safe by ensuring law enforcement has the tools necessary to keep drug dealers and dangerous criminals off our streets,” said Kuzma. “I will also fight to ensure the voters of our state have a fair and secure election process through commonsense election reforms.”
A proven conservative, Andrew strongly opposes the continuous push by the progressive politicians to increase state taxes, hike wasteful spending and enact job–crushing policies like the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI). He believes these misguided policies are driven by extreme politics and not sound judgement. He knows these efforts will only hurt middle class families, local trade union workers, and cost us good paying steel and energy jobs. While he understands that government does not create jobs, Andrew knows it can ensure our state is competitive when it comes to attracting employers and supporting the job–creating industries of tomorrow.
“Good paying jobs will be one of my top priorities as our representative,” said Kuzma. “I‘ll work every day to ensure the residents of Allegheny and Washington counties have access to effective job training and retraining programs. I‘ll work with like–minded colleagues to create the environment for small businesses to add jobs and grow our economy, and I‘ll work with legislators and local officials to put our workers first.”
Born and raised in Elizabeth Township, Andrew shares our conservative values. He is married to his high school sweetheart, Hannah, who is a NICU nurse at West Penn Hospital.
They are active members of Spirit Chapel Church in Elizabeth Township. Andrew is Pro Life, pro–2nd Amendment and shares our strong hometown values.
“I pledge to work hard to personally meet families in every community of this district while campaigning door–to–door in the coming months,” said Kuzma. “I encourage local residents to visit my website at: Vote4Kuzma.com or on Facebook: @Vote4 Kuzma to share your thoughts and to get involved in my campaign.”
